I have recently found another program that will allow you to play CD+G karoke CD's on your computer if the CD Rom
or CD writer you have is of a current version.  Mine was already 3 years old and it worked so there is a good chance if the
one you have is 3 or 4 years old it might also work. The site http://www.powerkaraoke.com/ allows you to download a limited
version of the software so you can test your drive before you buy the software.

I have just started (July 2007) using another service http://www.buykaraokedownloads.com/ that I can download Karaoke CDG songs
and burn them to CD's. These songs I have purchased for .99 cents and $1.50 tax included and they all have words and music and with
the above mentioned burner program from http://www.powerkaraoke.com/ you can burn the CDG files to disc.

 I have recommendations for other programs to record yourself with a WAV creator program from www.blazeaudio.com and change
the wav files to MP3 files with a program available from www.imtoo.com 

I used to search for popular Karaoke songs I would like to sing on  www.pckaraoke.com (they have discontinued their service)
and purchase them for $1.99 a piece then I would go to my I-Tunes program and search for the same songs to study with.
The I-Tunes songs cost .99 cents. The I-Tunes program is free from http://www.apple.com/itunes/ and it is a great program to search,
buy and burn songs to CD and organize all your song files.
 

Karaoke has opened up a new world of fun, entertainment and social interaction for me which helps to make my life more fulfilling.
